Swissmilk Planets

Swissmilk Planets is an online game created for Swissmilk where players take control of a cow and try to eat as much grass as possible in the allotted time. During gameplay players answer questions about the “grassland” Switzerland where correct answers are rewarded with power-ups and placing in the leaderboard leads to a chance of winning prizes.

Flags of the Pokémon World
Started 2023

Doc with all the flags

Private fan project. The popular games of the Pokémon series are set in fictional regions which are based on real world places. In this video series I go through the different regions and design new flags for towns, cities and regions. Starting with taking the real world flag of the place the fictional town is based on, I create new flag designs which fit both into the world of Pokémon as well as the vexillological 'rules' of the source regions.

Migros Merge
Released 2022, continuosuly updated until 2024

Migros Merge is a Merge-3-Game where players connect objects themed around the products of Swiss retailer Migros in trios to create bigger, prettier and better objects.The game follows Mia and her friends as they travel through time and learn more about Migros in a playful way. The game won gold in the category 'User Engagement' at the 2023 Best of Swiss Apps awards.

Temple Time
Released 2020

Temple Time is a mobile puzzle game where players control an adventurer exploring an ancient temple. Angering the God of Time, each time a crystal is collected, a sand guardian spawns from the broken hourglass and will retrace the player’s movement step by step, thereby limiting the player’s actions.

Book of Beasts

Book of Beasts is a digital multiplayer tabletop game that fuses board games with collectible card games and offers swift battles at its core. It is based on the engine and gameplay mechanics of Innovetica.

HWZ Space Academy Games
HWZ Space Academy

Gbanga was commissioned by business school HWZ (Hochschule für Wirtschaft Zürich) to create an interactive experience matching their pioneering «Digital Business» courses which are all about jobs in the industry 4.0. So we saw a perfect fit for an experience set in the future which is all about work in the age of starfaring and interplanetary humanity – so a recruitment booth for aspiring cadets was created that want to go on a mission to Mars.

Share Your Risk
Released 2019

"Share Your Risk" is a teaching aid from the Swiss Insurance Association SIA. The teaching aid was designed by kik AG. The accompanying serious game was developed by Gbanga. On shareyourrisk.ch, players follow the adventures of four flatmates and their pet pig. In each of the eight episodes, players take control of a different character and navigate them through the day. The aim is to find and combine objects and deal with insurance policies. The various insurance policies are embedded in entertaining stories that clearly illustrate what has been learned.

Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion
Released 2019

Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion is Gbanga's winning game submission for the 2018 Universal GameDev Challenge hosted by Hollywood studio Universal and Game Engine Unity. The game is a fast-paced, innovative blend of real-time strategy and puzzler for two players taking place in the universe of Netflix' original series Dreamworks Voltron: Legendary Defender . In May, six finalists were chosen from over 500 game concept entries and the winning game was announced during the Unite Los Angeles Conference.

Jass Fédéral

For the biggest Swiss operator Swisscom, Gbanga developed the web-based Jass website Jass Fédéral. In addition to the technological upgrade, Gbanga has also given the Jass a visual rejuvenation treatment. The bright new design looks fresh and invites gamers of all ages to try Jass once again. The entire game can be played by touch, with the mouse or with the Swisscom TV remote control. For easier operation, each card is assigned a number on the number field of the keyboard. This allows a much faster selection of the desired card than if you have to click through each card.

Innovetica

Innovetica is a strategic trading card game developed for Swiss retailers Landi and Volg and involves innovative and creative thinking. It can be played in real life with up to three friends or virtually via an app.

Parkineers
Released 2017

The Parkineers concept combines the parking space search tool with the advantages of a game. Gbanga developed Parkineers for Bosch (Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany). The app displays parking conditions in real time so that users can search for a space where it is worthwhile. The information is entered by the players and shared in the community with the aim of reducing search traffic. By collecting parking space data, users receive in-game currency, which they can use to build a thriving metropolis of the future in the game and compete with other Parkineers.

SLX Arena VR
Released 2017

Gbanga created the trade show game and multiplayer VR puzzle game «SLX» for the 9th Swiss Lawyer Congress in the KKL Lucerne, for Swisslex, the leading legal database of Switzerland, in cooperation with Roth&Maerchy.

Postman
Released 2017

POSTMAN playfully shows players the many, new access points of Swiss Post (Die Schweizerische Post). In various exciting missions, players experience adventures that are based on real stories of Swiss post employees. In the game, players move in the real world and collect resources and tools on the digital map to conclude a mission at a Swiss Post access point. The game won silver in the categories 'Games' and 'Campaigns' at the Best of Swiss Apps awards 2017.

“Ovo Challenge” is a game world and web-based gaming platform for promotional purposes, which Gbanga implemented on behalf of Ovomaltine (Wander AG). Ovo Challenge was visited by millions of players between 2016 and 2017.

World Nature Forum Games

The World Nature Forum WNF is a museum about the UNESCO World Heritage Site Aletsch Glacier. Gbanga has developed various interactive (serious) games for the exhibition.

Master Thesis
Released 2016

My Master thesis is titled 'Press X for Sex - An analytical and practical approach to the connections between sex and video games' where I analyzed the history of how sex has been portrayed in video games since their beginnings. Part of the thesis was the development of a matrix to categorize the depictions, a chat-game called 'Fleshwolf' which plays with the idea of fast sex as a 'reward', as well as an exhibition called 'Gaymes' which explored the depiction of homosexuality in video games, which was held as part of the 2016 PinkApple film festival.

Trial of Totems: Ever More
Created 2014

Final Bachelor project and part of the Bachelor thesis, this online multiplayer game was created together with Tabea Iseli. The players control ancient spirits which can possess animal statues and bring them to life to fight each other until only the best one stands. Each statue has a unique ability and defeating an opponent grants you their ability as well.

Draw Me the Way!
Released 2013

Created as a solo project while studying BA Game Design at ZHdK, Draw Me the Way! is a puzzle game where players draw arrows and other magic icons onto dungeon floors to safely lead the knight and wizard characters through intricate mazes. The game was developed on behalf of Samsung Switzerland to emphasize the ease of use of their stylus.

Cards of Legend

This set of poker cards inspired by 'The Legend of Zelda' started as just a suite of 3 cards. After being approached by Fangamer I finished the entire set and the poker cards have been a best seller on their site ever since. Unfortunately they are not available for purchase anymore at the moment.
